Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Thailand High School Investment Challenge (THIC) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data across all THIC programs and platforms, including the Investment Challenge, THIC Research, member-access systems, partner-facing systems, and any future initiatives. By accessing any THIC platform, registering as a member, submitting materials, or using any THIC digital service, you agree to the terms in this Policy.

1. Data We Collect

Depending on your role and point of access, THIC may collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Full name, date of birth, and nationality

  • School or institutional affiliation

  • Contact information including email address and phone number

  • Citizenship status, collected for eligibility verification purposes

  • Submitted academic, analytical, and creative work including equity research reports, pitch decks, and written research

  • Login credentials and access activity for gated platform sections

  • Communication records including emails and platform messages sent to or through THIC systems

  • Anonymized behavioral and traffic data collected through website analytics

2. Consent and Minors

THIC programs are primarily directed at high school students, the majority of whom may be under 18 years of age. In accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), the collection and processing of personal data belonging to individuals under 20 years of age requires verifiable parental or guardian consent where the individual lacks full legal capacity. By submitting an application or registering on any THIC platform, participants and their parents or guardians confirm that consent has been obtained. THIC reserves the right to request written parental consent documentation at any stage of the program.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data collected by THIC is used solely for the administration of THIC programs and institutional operations, including but not limited to:

  • Cohort selection and eligibility verification

  • Competition logistics and communications

  • Member access management and platform administration

  • Partner and institutional reporting

  • Publication of program outcomes and research outputs

  • Improvement of THIC platforms and services

 

THIC does not sell or license personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.

4. Partners and Institutional Access

THIC partners, institutional collaborators, judges, sponsors, and affiliated organizations may be granted access to program materials, participant submissions, cohort data, analytical outputs, internal documentation, and operational information as determined appropriate by THIC leadership. The scope, format, and duration of such access is determined at THIC's discretion and is aligned with THIC's institutional objectives. THIC reserves the right to modify, restrict, or revoke partner access at any time without prior notice.

5. Member and Gated Platform Access

Users who register for member or partner access to THIC's gated platforms agree to maintain the strict confidentiality of their login credentials and any materials accessed therein. Sharing of credentials or unauthorized distribution of gated content is prohibited. THIC reserves the right to revoke platform access at its discretion. Activity within gated platforms, including login events, document access, and submission activity, may be logged for security, administrative, and audit purposes.

6. Intellectual Property and Submitted Work

Work submitted to any THIC program, including but not limited to equity research reports, pitch decks, written research, and analytical materials, remains the intellectual property of the submitting team or individual. By submitting work to THIC, participants grant THIC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to publish, cite, reference, excerpt, or otherwise use submitted work for institutional, educational, research, and promotional purposes, with attribution to the submitting team where appropriate. THIC will not commercially exploit submitted work without the explicit written consent of the submitting party.

7. Communications and Marketing

By registering on any THIC platform or submitting an application to any THIC program, individuals consent to receiving program-related communications from THIC including cohort announcements, event notifications, platform updates, and institutional news. Individuals may withdraw from non-essential communications at any time by contacting THIC at the address below. Withdrawal from communications does not affect participation status or platform access.

8. Data Retention

Personal data is retained for as long as an individual maintains an active relationship with THIC, whether as a competition participant, member, partner contact, or collaborator. For individuals who do not hold an ongoing membership or institutional relationship with THIC, personal data is retained for a period not exceeding three years following their last active engagement with any THIC program, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.

Members of THIC's member platform acknowledge that membership is treated as an ongoing institutional relationship, and that personal data associated with membership will be retained for the duration of that membership and thereafter in accordance with THIC's archival obligations. Members may request termination of their membership and deletion of associated personal data at any time, subject to THIC's right to retain records necessary for institutional continuity, audit, and legal compliance.

Submitted competition and research materials may be retained indefinitely for institutional archival and publication purposes, subject to the intellectual property terms outlined in Section 7.

9. Your Rights Under PDPA

In accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), individuals whose personal data is processed by THIC have the following rights:

  • The right to access personal data held about them

  • The right to request correction of inaccurate data

  • The right to request deletion of personal data, subject to applicable retention obligations

  • The right to withdraw consent for data processing, where processing is based on consent

  • The right to data portability where technically feasible

  • The right to object to or restrict certain types of data processing

 

Requests to exercise any of the above rights may be submitted to THIC at the contact address below. THIC will respond to all valid requests within 30 days.

10. Cookies and Analytics

THIC's website and platforms may use cookies and anonymized analytics tools to understand site traffic, measure platform performance, and improve user experience. Cookies that collect personally identifiable information will only be activated with your explicit consent. You may manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to access public areas of the THIC website.

11. Data Security

THIC implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no digital platform can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that poses risk to individuals, THIC will notify affected parties and relevant authorities in accordance with PDPA requirements.

12. Changes to This Policy

THIC reserves the right to update or revise this Privacy Policy as its programs, platforms, and institutional scope expand. Material changes will be communicated to registered members and partners via the contact information on file. Continued use of THIC platforms following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
